Our Curriculum

We provide a preschool which forms a foundation for learning in the future years. We instill independence, sharing, caring and overall personality development early. Bright Beginners Preschool is a place where the child just doesn’t have fun with musical sessions, practical experiences, excursions, festival celebrations and much more, it is a school which helps in proper nurturing of a child. We follow a child centric pre-school curriculum, the purpose of which is the appropriate development of the child. It goes way beyond just song and dance routines, nursery rhymes and simple playing with toys.

Our curriculum draws inspiration from various preschool methodologies which have been translated keeping in mind, “present Indian academic and cultural context.”

5 Focus Areas Of Development.

Creativity

Children are encouraged to use wide range of resources in order to express their own ideas & feeling and to construct their individual responses. Art equipment, including paint, glue, crayons as well as naturally discarded resources provides for an open ended exploration of colour, shape and texture and the development of skills in painting, drawing and collage. Role play, dramatization and music play an equally important part in our curriculum.

Sensomotor

A range of equipment, both indoors and outdoors, allows the children to develop confidence in their body skills. A very high level of adult supervision enables the children to safely meet these physical challenges while developing skill and control in moving, climbing and balancing. At the same time, children are supported in the development of fine motor skills required to use tools like crayons and pencils and to handle small objects with increasing control and precision.

Language

In both small and large groups, children are encouraged to extend their vocabulary and fluency by talking and listening, and by hearing and responding to stories, songs and rhymes. Children are helped to understand that written symbol carries meaning and when they are ready to use and write themselves. A well stocked book corner gives every child the opportunity and encouragement to become familiar with books both for reference and as a source of stories and pictures.

Cognitive

Children become familiar with sorting, matching, ordering, sequencing and counting activities which form a basis of early mathematics. Children learn to identify objects by shape, position, size, volume and number. Children are also assisted in exploring and understanding their environment, both within the group and also in the wider community.

Personality

Problem solving, decision making and reasoning abilities are encouraged by means of adult supported experiences. A variety of activities are planned to give the children ample of opportunity to interact with their peers and adults to help them develop their social skills. An equal importance is given to instill independence in daily life skills during the course of the year.
